Foundation Notes.
Dreni Gazette began as an inquiry into what it means to maintain a consistent yoga practice without the scaffolding of a class structure. The question that prompted it — what actually changes in the body and the attention when practice is sustained over years rather than sessions — remains the animating concern of the publication.
Based in London. Independent. Running since 2024.
Yoga and stretching as subjects worthy of sustained editorial attention.
There is a body of knowledge around yoga practice and daily stretching that resists reduction to quick instruction. The biomechanics of joint mobility, the role of breath in governing the quality of movement, the particular qualities of a restorative session versus an active one — these are not simple topics, and they are not well served by brief, uncontextualised guidance.
Dreni Gazette exists to give these subjects the kind of long-form approach they deserve. Each article is researched against published sources in biomechanics and movement science, reviewed by at least one second editor before publication, and corrected openly when the record requires it.
Dreni Gazette is an independent editorial publication focused on everyday wellness practices. The publication is not affiliated with any commercial, governmental, or institutional body.

Eleanor Whitfield
Eleanor has maintained a daily yoga practice for eleven years and writes with particular attention to the structural aspects of flexibility and the relationship between consistent movement and the quality of sustained attention. She holds a background in anatomy and movement studies.
Tobias Marsden
Tobias approaches breath work and sequencing from a background in performance practice, where breath coordination under physical load is a longstanding subject of inquiry. His writing on pranayama and movement rhythm has been noted for its precision and accessibility.
Phoebe Easton
Phoebe writes on restorative yoga and the place of rest within an active practice. Her pieces tend toward the philosophical dimensions of stillness — the question of what happens when the body is held without effort for extended periods.
Publication Timeline
The Publication Begins
Dreni Gazette launches with a focus on long-form writing about yoga practice and daily stretching. The founding editorial question: what does a consistent mat practice actually produce over time, and how do we write about it with rigour?
Editorial Standards Formalised
A formal review process is established. All articles now pass through a second editor before publication. Source citations become a requirement for claims derived from movement science or biomechanics research.
Guest Contributors Join
The publication begins accepting pieces from guest writers with documented engagement in specific practice areas. Phoebe Easton joins as the first guest contributor, writing on restorative yoga and passive stretching.
Archive and Continuing Inquiry
With over forty articles in the archive, Dreni Gazette continues its inquiry into the long-form dimensions of yoga and stretching practice. New articles appear two to three times per month, with corrections and updates to the archive published openly.
Editorial Values
Documented Sources
Claims grounded in movement science or biomechanics research are accompanied by citations to published sources. Where sources are not available, writers are expected to make that limitation clear.
Transparent Corrections
When an article contains an error, the correction is noted on the piece itself with a date and description. The publication does not remove or quietly amend content without acknowledgement.
Disclosed Relationships
Writers disclose any commercial or institutional relationships that could influence their selection of subject matter. Undisclosed relationships are grounds for removal from the publication.
Depth Over Volume
The publication does not optimise for output frequency. Articles appear when they are ready — when the research has been completed, the draft reviewed, and the editorial process run in full.
